Six By Nico

 I'm back and with my first ever restaurant review!!

 If you know me at all, you'll know I'm the fussiest eater so the thought of going somewhere with a set menu with lots of new things is terrifying! But I decided to challenge myself and try something new and I loved it! Although I was very kindly invited to try the new menu, I wasn't told to say anything in particular! These are all my own opinions and honest reviews! 

 Today we're going to be looking at Six By Nico! They have come over from Scotland and change their menu up every 6 weeks! This menu is called 'The Chippie' and it was inspired by Belfast's Maritime history and our Big Fish! It's running until 14th April so make sure to try it before it's gone!! It's only £28 for the whole menu and it even has snacks for £5! You can also swap out any course for their vegetarian alternative! I've listed the vegetarian options but sadly have no photos!

Fish Fingers

Salt Cod Brandade / Brown Sauce / Bread / Whipped Butter

Vegetarian Option: Fritter Croquette

Salt And Vinegar Potato / Brown Sauce / Bread / Whipped Butter

Chips & Cheese

Parmesan Espuma / Crisp Potato / Curry Oil

Monkfish Cheeks / Pea Emulsion / Wild Garlic / Gribiche

Vegetarian Option: Cauliflower Scampi

Beer Battered Cauliflower / Pea Emulsion / Wild Garlic / Gribiche


















Steak Pie


Beef Shin / Burnt Onion Ketchup / Mushroom Duxelle / Red Wine / Glazed Puff Pastry

Vegetarian Option: Root Vegetable Pie

Crushed Parsnip & Artichoke / Burnt Onion / Glazed Puff Pastry / Pickled Mustard


Fish Supper


Cod / Confit Fennel / Samphire / Beer Pickled Mussels

Vegetarian Option: Halloumi 

Homemade Brown Sauce / Fennel / Salt & Vinegar Scraps

Smoked Sausage

Pork Belly / Salt Baked Celeriac / Caramelised Apple / Black Pudding

Vegetarian Option: Veggie Sausage

Sweet Potato & Feta / Salt Baked Celeriac / Caramelised Apple

Deep Fried Mars Bar


Caramelia Chocolate / Orange Sorbet / Cocoa Nib

Vegetarian Option: Deep Fried Mars Bar

Caramelia Chocolate Mousse / Orange Sorbet / Dark Chocolate



This was definitely one of, if not THE, fanciest meal I've ever had! 
Even though I was cautious over certain ingredients and meals, they were all delicious! 
I wasn't a huge fan of the fish dishes but I'm not a big fish fan anyway. I did make sure to try each dish and would highly recommend visiting Six By Nico, even if you're a fussy eater like myself!!

Hiyaa! Back again with some info on becoming more eco-friendly! This is something I'm very passionate about and it's so easy to make a difference! Reusable Water Bottles! Mine is from Chilly's Bottles and is lasting so well. Another great thing to use to remove makeup is with muslin cloths Cotton Buds!  Instead of stopping using them all together, simply change to cotton buds with paper stems instead of plastic. ICELAND

Helloooo, today I have a blog post ALL about my trip to Iceland!! I tried and failed to vlog the trip but if you want to see me trying popular Icelandic sweets and my attempt at vlogging, check it out  here! FRIDAY 29TH JANUARY 2016 After waking up incredibly early, we set off to Dublin Airport. Our flight was to Keflavik at 11;10, which I attempt doesn't sound early but we had to be at the airport for 9am, and to get to the airport, had to get a coach at 7am.  Anyway, we landed around 1;30/2pm and then once we had our luggage, we jumped on a Flybus coach, and set off towards our accommodation. When booking our airport transfers, we could choose what hotel we wanted dropped off at as well as just Reykjavik. We were staying at an apartment as part of  Eric the Red Guesthouse . New Year, New Me

2015. A new year, a new me. Yes, I did just say that and I mean it. 2015 is the year I turn 18 and turning 18 means I'll legally be an adult. And that terrifies me. I don't understand how so much time has passed since I was playing The Simpsons Hit and Run on my PS2 or acting out Harry Potter with my friends. It feels like yesterday that I was starting finishing primary school and starting grammar school. How has all this time passed? How am I almost an adult? Soon it won't be illegal for me to drink, there'll be no risk when going out to clubs, it will be normal and that's scary. I'm scared for what everyone will except of me, I'll be the same person but I'll be 18 so I'll just sound older.
